Secure destruction, in-place.

eMACS is a trailer-mounted closed chamber that destroys ordnance on the owner's site using two-stage combustion. Custody stays inside the perimeter. In service since 2001.

The alternatives

Open burning

Open burning and detonation run with no containment or emissions control. The EPA has proposed tighter standards (89 FR 19952).

Road transport

Live ammunition travels public roads to a permitted depot. Every transfer is a custody break and every escort is a cost.

Fixed plants

Centralised and permitted over months to years. They cannot reach ordnance that is distributed across bases and agencies.

eMACS

A closed chamber that reaches the site in days. Material never leaves the owner's perimeter.
